Submission Criteria for the ANZAME Undergraduate Student Prize

The project must be by an undergraduate student and must be in an area of education relating to one of the health professions (medicine, nursing, midwifery, dentistry, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, etc.).

Submissions must consist of:
(a) A covering letter including the name(s) of the student(s) submitting for the prize and their year of study in the course, the contact details of all the students including e-mail addresses, postal addresses and phone numbers. Submissions of computer programs, web-sites and other electronic resources must include clear instructions regarding hardware, software and other information required to access and use them.
(b) A letter from the student's supervisor ratifying that the student is a bona fide student and outlining the students role and extent of involvement in the project.
(c) A 500 word summary of the project.
(d) The project itself. Only a single copy of the project is required if the submission is electronic. However, if the submission is in a physical form (printed material, poster, video, CD-ROM, etc), three copies must be provided.

Projects will be judged on their originality, student involvement, contribution to health professional education and quality of presentation.

The recipient will be invited to attend the Annual Conference of ANZAME. In certain circumstances, consideration will be given to subsidising travel expenses for the recipient. The recipient will be encouraged to write a paper describing their work for publication in ANZAME's Journal - Focus on Health Professional Education.

The 2006 prize was awarded to Alistair Escott, a medical student at Wellington School of Medicine, for his project "The medical student as principal stakeholder."
