Submission Criteria for the Fred Katz Memorial MedalThe Fred Katz Memorial Medal is awarded to commemorate the contribution of Fred Katz to the education of health personnel in developing countries and to provide a stimulus and reward for educators of health personnel working in this area of education. The Award is available to all educators of health personnel working in developing countries. Preference may be given to Australian or New Zealand educators. The recipient will embody the ideals and aspirations of Fred Katz for the betterment of education of health personnel at all levels in developing countries and will have shown the qualities of enthusiasm and aptitude for development of such activities as epitomised by Fred Katz in his own contributions to this area. Objective evidence of the nominee's success in the field of education of health personnel in developing countries, as attested by referees' reports, will be required. Nominations must be accompanied by a brief curriculum vitae and other supporting evidence as to the candidate's suitability for the Award. A Fred Katz Memorial Medal Committee will be constituted to select the award recipient. The award will be announced and the medal presented at the Annual Conference of ANZAME. After a hiatus of 5 years, the 2006 medal was awarded to Professor Anthony Radford for his lifetime of health educational work in and for the developing world. |
