Submission Criteria for the ANZAME Award

Any financial member of ANZAME is entitled to nominate a candidate for this award.

Nominations must include the following details:

(a) the name of the candidate, their qualifications, appointments and academic distinctions;
(b) an outline of the candidate's achievements, including an evaluation of their contribution in the nominated area of professional excellence.

Some factors that may show a candidate's merit for an award in the area of health professional education could be curriculum development; course design, teaching and coordination; student supervision, undergraduate or postgraduate; continuing education or professional development. An evaluation of the candidate's contribution to health professional education research may include such areas as work published or accepted, submitted for publication, in preparation for publication; papers delivered at conferences and seminars; invited lectures; or grants received. An evaluation of the candidate's contribution to the association may include their contribution in any endeavours with which the association is involved. These factors should be considered as a guide only, as not all areas will necessarily be represented in the work of any particular individual and this award allows for excellence in any area of health professional education.

A Selection Panel will be convened each year by the ANZAME Committee of Management to consider all nominations. The Award/s will be announced and presented at the Annual Conference of ANZAME and will consist of a suitably inscribed citation.

The 2005 Award was granted to Linda Santamaria in recognition of her many years of valuable service and her ongoing contribution to ANZAME.
